Top Ten Tuesday: Opening Lines

The topic for Top Ten Tuesday this week is “Opening Lines”. You can find the host of top ten Tuesday here. So this is just a list of ten opening lines that I thought were memorable or funny, basically just ones that really drew me in from the start. So maybe one of these might intrigue you and you’ll want to read the book. These are in no particular order and there are probably more but I just pulled from the books that I owned physical copies of because that was just the easiest for me to do. I hope you find these as interesting as I do!

  1. “At the time I first realized I might be fictional, my weekdays were spent at a publicly funded institution on the north side of Indianapolis called White River High School, where I was required to eat lunch at a particular time– between 12:37 p.m. and 1:14 p.m.– by forces so much larger than myself that I couldn’t even begin to identify them.”- John Green, Turtles All The Way Down
  2. “The way I figure it, everyone gets a miracle.”- John Green, Paper Towns

  7. “Sybil Davison has a genius I.Q. and has been laid by at least six different guys.”- Judy Blume, Forever…
