The Last Ten Books I Abandoned

The topic for Top Ten Tuesday this week is “The Last Ten Books I Abandoned”. You can find the host of top ten Tuesday here. There are very few books that I have completely abandoned, most of them are just ones that I’ve left for now. So I could wind up picking any of these up at a later date because I’ve been in a slump for a while. This is in chronological order of the last ten I started reading and then stopped.

  1. P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han: I feel like this suffers a lot from middle book syndrome and I just have no desire to read it but I’ve heard that the 3rd/last book is better so I’ll have to get through it at some point.
  2. Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier: I don’t really reach for classics so I just wasn’t invested in it but I want to read more of it to see if I can get into it.
  3. The Paper and Hearts Society by Lucy Powrie: I started reading this while I was in Paris and then it just wasn’t holding my attention which is understandable because I was busy being a tourist.
  4. Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston: I started reading this in England and I couldn’t really get into the point of view. I really do want to give this book a fair chance so I definitely will pick it back up when I have a larger chunk of time to read it.
  5. Again, but Better by Christine Riccio: I just wasn’t into this book, but I do want to read this at some point.
  6. My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren: I loved Christina Lauren’s other books which is why I picked this up but I’m not as into this romance as much as her other works. But I might give it another shot soon.
  7. How to Make Friends with the Dark by Kathleen Glasgow: This has a good plot and is really well written but at the time of reading this I was going through a relapse of my depression. As the title suggests this book has a dark plot and themes and I just couldn’t handle it so I’ll pick it back up when I’m in a good mental health place.
  8. The Bridge from Me to You by Lisa Schroeder: I started reading this because I needed something light after How to Make Friends with the Dark, but it just isn’t that well written or interesting so I just got annoyed by the plot.
  9. Measuring Up by Margaret Gurevich: I owned this for awhile, I’m probably never going to finish it.
  10. They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera: I don’t know why I didn’t continue with this, I think I just got too busy.
